Six Sentence Story Monday!
Here are a couple six sentence stories:
Janie saw ghosts in the landscape. Spurred outlaws shuffling, slouched over so that their dusty hats obscured phantom whiskered chins, meandered in the desert. A tumbleweed rolled over a hillock preceding a dust devil whose sands scoured the junipers. Janie rubbed her eyes. Continuing to drive, squinting into the setting sun, she saw an eagle ride a thermal skyward. Looking under the visor and up through the windshield, her eyes tracked the raptor and did not see the oncoming semi-truck.
The sun had yet to chase away the night. She sat writing by the light of her keyboard in the quiet predawn. The previous night, she had heard the coyotes running the canyon. They sang to one another of their speed and location. In the dark they kept singing, listening, and thinking to find their direction. She mused that she could keep writing obvious things, truths.
